Brenne

There's a famous quote by Mother Teresa that comes to mind when you hear the name “Brenne.” A girl’s name of Welsh and Irish origin, Brenne has an oceanic number of meanings. As a variant of the Welsh Bryn, it means “hill,” while as a diminutive of the Irish Brennan, it means “sorrow,” “resolute,” or “raven” and “black-haired.” Perhaps most beautifully—and symbolically—of all, Brenne is also thought to derive from the Irish word braon, which means “little drop of water.” This is the meaning that conjures up the Mother Teresa quote, in which she reminds people that while their actions might feel like a small drop of water in the ocean, the ocean would be less without that drop.
