Gapo

Gapo is a boy’s name made popular by Lin Manuel Miranda’s “In the Heights.” Though its origins are a bit mixed, coming from South America originally, this name is now proudly American. It means a forest near a river, especially one that’s flooded in the rainy season. We like to think that this overflowing is a metaphor for joy and with Gapo, when it rains, it pours.
