Aidan’s one of the biggest stories of the ’00s. It didn’t hit the charts until the ’90s, when it averaged a ranking of 311. Since then, it’s been passed by variation Aiden, which resides just outside the top 15. Aidan has both the trendy Irish element, and the even trendier “-aden” ending. Well, this name’s more like just the ending…but it’s an ending that’s spawned tons of made-up names like Jayden and Kaden. Aidan, though, is very much a real name -- it stems from the old Irish name Aodhan, which has been used by several monks, saints, and bishops.

I love Aiden. Def Using that for my future boys name. Aiden Steven.
by carrybradshawMy seven year old is Aidan Daniel, when I named him I only knew of one Aidan that was two years old. I wish it hadn't become so popular. The same thing happened with my daughter Madalyn too (she's 10) the year after she was born everyone was naming their daughters Madelyn. Oh well too late now...
