my name is Delilah :) im 25 now and it's been a unique name lol people tend to misspell the name often. "Delia" and i kidd u not: "Delighlah" someone once called me "Delta" because they could not pronounce my name. My family calls me "Lilah" for short... so far, good name. People also tease me a lot about the biblical reference- it gets old.
by emily111487We're naming our little girl, due in January, Delilah Elizabeth. :)
by GabeAndLilahsMommyLove this name - in a baby name book I have it states the meaning is leader or guide, not "one who weakened". I certainly prefer that! We are considering Delilah Rose for one of our twin girls.
by azkiddocI love the name Delilah. I'm expecting a boy in November but if our second child is a girl we're going to name her Delilah Jean.
by Emu1085Love the name! As for Bible Reference.. who cares? I am Roman Catholic and very religious but a beautiful name is a beautiful name and its 2012.
by casebabiiBetter than Jezebel ;). Think this is a beautiful name.
by fxf6314Yikes! Truth be told, my husband & I really liked this name...that is, until we told his mother and got a full-on bible lecture. So I did not mean any offense with my comment, just trying to save someone the lecture we got :)
by jennybreonMy daughter's name is Delilah Bee. Everyone we meet loves that name.
by barbienbabylove this name! i'm with Lizziewithalittle, so what, she was not a favorable character in the bible, at the end of the story, she did save samson... destroying her own people...LOL speaking of, Brook108- didnt know if you knew this, but "morning star" was also the name of Lucifer, when he was an angel, i'm surprised Jennybreon didnt catch that one.
by PrincessMenaceI agreee with LizziewithaLittle! I looovee the name and am considering it and i am also due in May! Ps- I love the song samson
by starsmoonskyI adooooorrre the name delilah and im seriously thinking about it as a name for my little one due in may, granted that stupid song slightly ruined it for me, but not that much...AS TO you, jennybreon, yeah if you take the story of samson and delilah at face value then sure Delilah is a sneakster at the least but to me, the story represents love and i have a different view of delilah from most, im also affected by the regina spektor song called Samson though...but ANYWAY point is, just because a character named Delilah did something messed up that doesnt mean the name is affected. Thats like saying no one should ever name their boy Ted because of Ted Bundy. PS Delilah also means delicate.
by LizziewithaLittlePLEASE look this name up in the bible. There's a reason it's never used.
by jennybreonDelilah Morning Star Cross
by Brook108Congrats on your May baby girl!!! Oh how sweet!!! I love it! :) We aren't finding out the gender of our little bundle of joy, but if we are blessed with a girl, her name will be Delilah Jane :)
by Allbaughfam11we chose Delilah May for our baby girl due in February;)
