Benaiah

Benaiah is a common name in the Torah, but its most famous bearer is one of King David's soldiers. This Benaiah proclaimed David's son, Solomon, king and served as the chief of his army. This Hebrew name is traditionally used for boys, with Ben being an easy nickname. Benaiah means "Yahweh builds" and comes from the root verb bana, meaning "to build."
