Iolande

Iolande is a girl’s name most common in Italy, Portugal, and Romania. Derived from the medieval French name Yolande, popularized by its Spanish counterpart Yolanda, Iolande gets its flowery feel from the Latin word viola, which means “violet.” Although Iolande and its variants have been quite common among the many queens of Europe, Canadian film director Iolande Cadrin-Rossignol now accounts for the name’s claim to fame.
