Japheth

Japheth, a Hebrew and Arabic name. Popularly seen in the Torah, Japheth is known as the name of the eldest of Noah's three sons in the Book of Genesis. In this book, it's said that Japheth's descendants helped to repopulate the earth after the flood. This name has two possible meanings, depending on its roots. In Hebrew, it could mean “opened,” “enlarged," or “handsome.” While in Arabic, this fruitful name means “abundant.” Japheth also features in Stephen Schwartz’s musical Children of Eden, which is based on the Book of Genesis, helping to make this a name with a strong familial association.
