Derived from the epithet held by Vayu, the Hindu deity of the wind and divine messenger to the gods, Paavana is a variation of Pavana and means “wind.” This remarkable god holds great significance in Hinduism as Vishnu’s son, who was born from his breath, and the first to consume the sacred ritual drink, Soma. Wind is one of the five elements in Hinduism and symbolizes divinity, strength, and soul.
