Varda

Varda is a feminine name of Hebrew origin, with a meaning of "rose" and "pink." It is a name that has also been popularized in the Eastern European countries of Armenia and Hungary. The most famous Varda we know is Rosalie Varda, the Oscar-winning producer and writer who won the award for a documentary based on her mum, Agnès. After she began her seventh decade working in film, director Martin Scorcese showed his admiration by describing Agnès Varda as "one of the Gods of cinema."
