Yseut

Yseut is the Middle French form of Iseult, a feminine name whose exact origins puzzle etymologists to this day. Possibly of Welsh descent, Yseut may be a derivative of the Welsh Esyllt, flaunting the flattering meanings “who is gazed at” and “the beautiful one.” Closer to France are Yseut’s German origins, where the name is thought to stem from Ishilde or Iswalde, meaning “iron ruler” for the tenacious tot who takes no prisoners.
